Process Safety and Automation

This research group is established to carry out fundamental researches on enhancing the safety of systems and integrating safety systems in automation and process control systems. Finding innovative solutions to deal with hazard conditions in safety-critical systems such as thermal power plants, chemical and petrochemical industries is the major objective of the Process Safety and Automation research group. A variety of disciplinary and cross- disciplinary topics including design of fault detection and fault diagnosis systems, fault tolerant control systems, safety instrumented system, abnormal conditions management systems, cyber-physical and cyber-security of automation systems are investigated.
